TJC Strategic Plan

The world is experiencing rapid change and churches are no exception as both internal and external forces impact churches all the time. Therefore to be able to increase the ministry effectiveness of Tema Joint Church, the Church needs to review its strategies, structures and systems while maintaining its sacred nature in its operations. The Church Council of Tema Joint Church thus set up a Strategic Planning team in February, 2016 to review the Church’s Strategic Plan for the five year period from 2011 to 2015 and prepare a new Strategic Plan for the period from 2016 to 2020.

This Strategic Plan is to enhance the ability of the Church to effectively fulfill its mission and ministry mandate and ensure that appropriate resources are made available to mission and ministry initiatives. It is also offers an opportunity for the co-ordination of activities, programmes and resources of the Church with a focus on developing a healthy church. In formulating the Strategic Plan, it is important that a participatory and consultative approach is adopted for contributions to be made by the various Church groups to the process.

The mission of the Church is to create a dynamic redemptive centre where ordinary people know and share God’s love. This is in accordance with “The Great Commission” – “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And surely, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” – Matthew 28:19-20.

In this regard, the Church will uphold the teachings of Jesus Christ based on faith and belief in the Triune God and fulfil His mandate to His disciples.

The Strategic Plan is to be implemented through the use of Annual Budgets derived from the strategic objectives of the five-year plan. The Church Council will at least review annually performance against the Strategic Plan to ensure that progress is being made and the spirit of the plan is being achieved.
The Action Plans will need to be reviewed and if necessary modified at least quarterly while the Strategic objectives will also need to be reviewed and if necessary modified at least every two years.
The Church Council will be responsible for ensuring that the strategies as described in the Strategic Plan are carried out.

The Strategic Plan provides Tema Joint Church the means to revitalize itself to address its strategic issues and challenges and to achieve its vision and mission in a structured and sustainable manner. The successful implementation of the Strategic Plan will also promote the spiritual as well as the physical growth of Tema Joint Church.
